Where did the time go?!?! My little man is 1! This year has been the longest yet shortest year of my life. It’s been hard in so many ways, but the most wonderful, meaningful, enjoyable, rewarding year I’ve ever had. I’m so grateful I documented Levi’s 1st year journey on my blog. Most was probably written in a daze as exhaustion was prominent throughout this year. haha But I will always cherish the memories I have and wrote down, and the pictures I captured and posted. I soaked this year in knowing how fast time flies, and I’m so glad I did. You blink and your little boy is already one.
On January 25, 2020 family and friends celebrated Levi’s birthday at our local library. It was the best day! I know Levi doesn’t know what was going on, but seeing him in his Dr. Seuss sweatshirt, eating his first piece of cake and playing with his friends brought so much joy to all of us and him. The theme of the party was “Oh The Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss. It was a whimsical theme with bright colors, a fun cake, Dr. Seuss board book favors, finger food and more. The library was the perfect place to hold his first birthday since I bring Levi there almost every Saturday to play and read. It’s become our spot which we both enjoy. The library has a children’s room, but we actually held the party upstairs. The room was large enough for all of our guests, and the library conveniently had tables and chairs we set up. I also brought some books and toys upstairs from the children’s room for the kids to play with.
My mom came to visit to help with the party and she wanted to see Levi, of course. It was such a nice weekend with her. She helped so much! I don’t know what I would have done without her especially since Lance, Levi and I were all sick for about 3 weeks before Levi’s birthday. Levi had RSV, bronchitis and a double ear infection. It all cleared up days before his birthday thankfully, and we all had the best time!
I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us this next year. It just keeps getting better and better! It still amazes me to this day I have a 1 year old. I keep thinking how is that possible? I have been having all the emotions lately. I love watching him develop, learn, and grow, but at the same time I want him to stay little. It’s bittersweet. He literally can bring a smile to my face everyday. Levi’s personality is coming out so much lately, and he’s going to have Lance’s personality. One that is laid back, easy going, funny, and lovable. You make me laugh everyday peanut! I just feel God knew what I needed when I had you.
