I’m a little obsessed with Pinterest. I use it for absolutely everything – finding new recipes, fashion & home decor inspiration, showing my hair dresser the kind of hair cut I want, ideas for my upcoming wedding, exercise routines, organization tips, DIY and much more! Pictures go a long ways and honestly it’s really nice to have a visual. Even when I buy cookbooks, I need to make sure they have a picture of each recipe (or a lot of the recipes) because I like to know how it’s supposed to look. I feel so many people use Pinterest since it’s so helpful. Lance even has an account and uses it a lot! We always send each other pins of recipes or home decor inspo.
I’ve used Pinterest for years especially for recipe ideas. If you look on my Pinterest you’ll see I have my food boards all categorized. It’s easier for me to search a breakfast recipe, under breakfast, then to search an entire “recipe board” like I used to have. On my Pinterest I have a board called “Tried and True“. It includes the recipes I’ve tried on Pinterest that are definitely worth making again. Once in a while, I’ll make a recipe from Pinterest that didn’t turn out well. The image looked great, but the recipe wasn’t. I’m really particular when it comes to saving recipes to my tried and true Pinterest board. It literally had to be mouth watering for me to save it. Since I’ve tried SO many recipes on Pinterest, I’m sharing below some of my tried and true favorites for you all to enjoy as well!
LOADED CHICKEN TOSTADAS

The Loaded Chicken Tostadas recipe is from one of my favorite food bloggers, Cooking Classy. I’ve made a lot of her recipes and every single one has turned out to be an absolute favorite of mine. Hands down! I now look at her blog daily because I love seeing what she has in store! (Side note: The Raspberry Almond Thumbprint Shortbread Cookies, which was my very first blog post, is a recipe I saw on Pinterest from Cooking Classy’s blog.) Now back to the tostadas (lol) – I decided to make these for a different take on taco night which Lance and I have all too often. I love the fresh ingredients in this recipe, and Lance and I even made the tostada shells ourselves (so easy!) but you can buy pre-made tostada shells at the store. Try this recipe for a different take on your Mexican night. Plus it’s weeknight friendly!

SPICY SHRIMP RAMEN BOWLS

I don’t know why, but recently I had such a craving for Ramen Noodles. Random, I know! I saw on Pinterest a few homemade versions, and I thought I would try one out. I’m so glad I did because this recipe was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! When I think of ramen, I think of the chicken flavored packets I had growing up. This version has shrimp, veggies, a squeeze of lime and chopped fresh cilantro for garnish – which adds a whole new level of flavor! I’m dying to make this recipe again!

CARAMELIZED ONION, APPLE, SAUSAGE STUFFED ACORN SQUASH

I do Beach Body on and off, and when I’m “on”, Lance will do the eating portion with me. I actually have a 21 Day Fix board on Pinterest, and I when I saw this recipe I thought it would be perfect for my meal plan. Lance and I like this recipe so much we’ve made it at least a half dozen times within the last year (even when I’m not doing Beach Body). I’ve seen a lot of stuffed squash recipes on Pinterest mostly with spaghetti squash, but I thought this recipe looked really good. Plus I’d never had acorn squash before, so I decided to try it out. I love trying out different cooking techniques or ingredients I’ve never had before. This recipe is hearty and filing. All the flavors of the onion, apple, sausage and squash are really good together! I think I may just put this on my grocery list for next week!

EASY EVERYTHING BAGELS

This was my first time making bagels, and I can count the number of times on one hand I’ve made homemade bread and rolls before. However, this recipe is really easy plus there’s only 5 ingredients. I made them in the morning one day and it literally took less than an hour from start to finish, and Lance and I had them for breakfast with cream cheese. SO good!! These bagels are made with greek yogurt, so they are protein packed. There’s no yeast involved or boiling. You’ll love these for your weekend brunch!

ROSEMARY SEA SALT SWEET POTATO ROLLS

These Rosemary Sea Salt Sweet Potato Rolls will be a hit at your Easter Dinner. Everyone will go crazy over them! A few months ago I made these rolls for one of my book club nights, and my friends couldn’t stop raving about them. I get a little intimated making bread, but this recipe is really easy! Honestly, there’s nothing better than fresh baked bread or rolls hot out of the oven!

Loved your tried and true idea. I don’t know how many times I’ve tried a recipe and then did not know where I put it. The spicy shrimp ramen noodle bowl looked so good, probably because I love shrimp.
