WEEKLY FARMER’S MARKET TRIPS
The Farmer’s Market starts later this month, and Lance and I head to it every week. It’s really close by to where we live, just a mile down the road, and it’s the largest farmer’s market in the area. Lance and I get our veggies for the week there. We also love getting Asgaard Farm goat cheese, fresh bread, bouquets of flowers, and the best lemonade to sip on while walking around.
VISITING MY PARENTS CAMP
My parents are here from Tennessee for the summer and they are staying at their camp. I haven’t seen them since the Fall, so I’m looking forward to heading up there on weekends to visit. I’m looking forward to unplugging (there’s very spotty service), going on boat rides on the lake, taking the 4wheeler out, and eating dinner at Sugarloaf, the best little restaurant up there.

TOURING SHELBURNE FARMS
I’ve been hearing a lot about Shelburne Farms over in Vermont, and I’ve been wanting to take a drive over to visit. There’s so much to do and see in our area that I’ve been really wanting to check out. The Farm is an education center for sustainability and a landmark on Lake Champlain. They also have tours of their gardens and the inn as well. I thought it would be the perfect time to go as everything is coming into bloom!
STRAWBERRY PICKING
Last year Lance’s mom and I went strawberry picking at Rulph’s Orchard. It was me first time ever picking strawberries! We got A TON of berries, and I loved having fresh strawberries throughout winter in the freezer. I’m planning on going again, and I want to make homemade strawberry jam and these Honey Strawberry Muffins from Half Baked Harvest. MMmmm!!
Lance and I have been finalizing up our yard work, flower beds and veggie gardens the last few weeks. We also finished watching Riverdale Season 2 on Netflix, which I highly recommend watching if you haven’t already. I’ve already got a head start on hiking some trails this summer, and I’m looking forward to getting our kayaks out in the water. My 2 favorite things to do in the summer! This weekend we are hiking Owls Head Lookout. It’s my first time hiking this trail, but I hear it has a great view!
Lance and I have made a few new recipes including this Caesar Salad, which I highly recommend making both the homemade dressing and croutons. The croutons are addicting! I’m also looking forward to grilling more on our new grill. You can see some recipes we’ve tried out (and loved), here. The thing I’m most excited for is soft served ice cream at Donnelly’s. We haven’t gone yet, but maybe I’ll convince Lance (which doesn’t take any convincing at all) to go this weekend!
I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of summer!!
