What I’m Looking Forward To In April

April is a really quiet month for Lance and me. I don’t think we have a single thing planned, and I’m really looking forward to some relaxing nights after work. This month I’m looking forward to starting my nightly walks, learning a few photography skills, working on some upcoming blog projects, watching one of my favorite TV shows that’s coming back on and more!

 NIGHTLY WALKS

April is a really quiet month for Lance and me. I don’t think we have a single thing planned, and I’m really looking forward to some relaxing nights after work. One of my favorite ways to unwind at night is to go on a walk. Lance and I live on a quiet road that leads to a trail at Marcy Field. On my walk I pass a horse farm and one of the best views of the High Peak Mountains. One of my favorite things is to be outside. I love getting fresh air and being surrounded by all the natural beauty our area has to offer. There’s something so relaxing and calming about my nightly walks, and since this winter has been a cold and long one, I’m ready for them to begin!

LEARNING PHOTOGRAPHY

Lance surprised me with a Nikon D5300 for my birthday this year which I was really excited about! We usually just take pictures on our cellphones, but having a camera really makes all the difference. I’ve actually never used a camera before the one Lance got me for my birthday. I’ve only ever used my cellphone. I picked up this book, The Beginner’s Photography Guide, from the library, and I’m really looking forward to putting it to use. If anyone knows of any online courses or local workshops for photography I would love for you to comment below!

Deer's Head Inn Restaurant In Elizabethtown New York

THE DEER’S HEAD INN

Lance and I spent Easter morning with our close friends at The Deer’s Head Inn for brunch. We had the best breakfast buffet and Bloody Mary’s there. It was my first time at The Deer’s Head Inn which is funny because I work just right down the street. I’m looking forward to coming here more often and trying out their lunch menu or getting some drinks with friends after work.

BLOG PROJECTS

I’m really looking forward to some fun blog projects coming up. My friend, Megan, who has been taking my outfit photos on my blog, also took this photo of me a few years ago. Megan has a photography business, Evergreen Photography, and I highly recommend her! She does amazing work! We are working together on the projects that are coming up this Spring, and I can’t think of a better person to do this with. I can’t wait to share with you all on all what’s coming to the blog soon!

COOKING SERIES

Lance and I started videoing ourselves when we make dinner on Sunday nights. These videos show us preparing and cooking what we have for dinner, and then I post the video on social media. I love posting blog posts of recipes, but I feel there’s so many good recipes we make, and I want to share them all! This is just another way I’ve thought of to show you more of the recipes we love.

I’m excited to do more of these videos since the last 2 weeks Lance and I were sick and then it was Easter. This coming Sunday we are making Chicken Broccoli Alfredo – one of my favs!

One of my favorite shows, The 100, is airing it’s 5th season on the CW on April 24. Who else has seen it?! Lance and I caught up on the previous seasons on Netflix last year, so we’ve been anxiously awaiting for The 100 to start again. If you’ve never seen it before it’s set 97 years after a nuclear war destroyed civilization, when a spaceship housing humanity’s lone survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth in hopes of re-populating the planet. If you’re looking for a new show to watch, I highly recommend this one!

I’m also reading a few books I wanted to share. I just got done reading Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. I really enjoyed this book! Currently, I’m reading Beartown by Fredrik Backman and next on my list is Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls.

What are you looking forward to this month?
