Cape Cod Travel Guide: Part 2

Last week I loved reminiscing about Lance’s and my beach vacation to Cape Cod. Today I’m sharing Part 2 of our travel guide. Since it was our first time to the cape, we decided to split our week between 2 towns. The beginning part of the week we stayed in Falmouth, and the second half we stayed in South Yarmouth. The last bit of our trip was so relaxing. We lounged on beach chairs by the ocean soaking up the sun. I’m sharing our time spent in South Yarmouth – including the best seafood restaurants we ate at!

Last week I loved reminiscing about Lance’s and my beach vacation to Cape Cod last fall. I’m sharing below our time spent in South Yarmouth – including the best seafood restaurants we ate at! If you missed it I shared part 1 last week, which you can read about here.

*During our Cape Cod trip, Lance and I also went to Martha’s Vineyard. I’m going to share that in a separate post as that’s were we got engaged! Stay tuned!

WHERE WE STAYED

For the second part of our trip, Lance and I actually wanted to stay in Dennisport. Lance’s friend stays at The Corsair and Cross Rip Oceanfront Hotel with his family every year. However, when we called to book a room they were all sold out. It was a bummer, but Lance and I found a really cute place the next town over in South Yarmouth called, Surfcomber on the Ocean. We specifically wanted to be right on the beach and this was the perfect place to stay. They have an outdoor heated pool and their own private beach lined with lounge chairs overlooking the ocean. I felt so relaxed laying out in the sun, reading a book and listening to the waves come to shore. From our balcony we saw the prettiest sunrises and sunsets. Also, our hotel was walking distance to one of the best restaurants Lance and I ate at in the cape. Plus the restaurant had an ice cream shack, so that may or may not be the real reason we liked it so much! lol

WHAT WE DID

Walked On The Beach
One morning Lance and I woke up early and decided to take a long walk on the beach. We didn’t have an agenda that day, so it was nice being able to take our time. I always enjoy taking a walk on the beach since I live in the mountains, and I don’t get to the beach very often. Walking on the beach barefoot along the edge where the water and sand meet, collecting seashells, and smelling the salty ocean air are some my favorite things on vacation!

Went To The Beach
The hotel we stayed at had a private beach, which we loved! Comfy lounge chairs were lined up overlooking the ocean. You could find me here the majority of our trip!

Went To The Pool
The hotel also had an outdoor heated pool. When we weren’t by the ocean, we took a dip in the pool to cool off. I like having both options, the beach and pool, to choose from.

Took A Drive
Lance and I like to take a drive around the area when we are on vacation to get acclimated to the town. South Yarmouth, from what we saw, was different than Falmouth as it doesn’t have a Main Street or downtown area. While driving Lance and I saw a Farmer’s Market which we stopped at and explored.

WHERE WE ATE

Breakfast:
We mostly ate at our hotel. Our hotel didn’t have a restaurant, but Lance and I had a cooler of yogurt, juice, and fruit.

Lunch:
Captain Parker’s Pub– Such good clam chowder! Lance and I ordered clam chowder every place we ate at, and we both thought this restaurant served the best!
One day we just had snacks throughout the day at the pool and beach.

Dinner:
Inaho Japanese Restaurant – This was an interesting dinner! Lance’s first time eating sushi.
Skipper Chowder House – We ate here our last night. We LOVED it! The best seafood we had.
