Waffles From Scratch

I love waffles that are a little crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I received a waffle maker as a gift a couple of years ago and have finally found my go-to recipe. Waffles are really easy to whip up, and I love accompanying my fluffy and delicious waffles with fresh fruit and warm real maple syrup.

Waffles From Scratch

Making waffles reminds me of when I used to work at Ben and Jerry’s scooping ice cream. One of our job duties was making waffle cones in a waffle maker. I remember the sweet scent when making the vanilla waffle cones and trying to make the perfect one.

Making waffles from scratch you begin the process by mixing the dry ingredients in a bowl and then in a separate bowl you mix the wet ingredients.

Then you combine the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. You will beat egg whites until stiff and fold the egg whites into the batter. The egg whites are what makes the waffles light and fluffy.

When Lance and I are unsure of what to make for dinner, usually breakfast is the first thing that pops in our heads. Breakfast for dinner is a favorite of ours especially making waffles from scratch. Sometimes we put a little vanilla extract in and other times blueberries if we have them on hand. These waffles are always a treat when we have them!

When I was little I used to love pouring maple syrup on my waffle until every square was covered.  No matter how you eat your waffle, you will love these!

10 minutes
Cook Time:
4 minutes
